About the Event

Dance, Cacao & Fire

Dance Rhythms returns in true beauty!

A special event held in the ancestral arms of West Stow weaving the sacred medicine of dance, cacao and fire into ceremony.

Hannah and Natalie are delighted to be coming together again at last to bring this event to life after such a time out from community gatherings.

We will be journeying to our inner landscape through the vessel of dance and connecting with the heart-opening medicine of ceremonial cacao.

The event will be outside in the stunning setting of West Stow Anglo Saxon Village.

Event details and booking can be found at

No physical contact or stimulants are required during this journey process.

~ Dance to find home once again; home of the soul, home of the heart. ~

~ The Cacao plant is a healer of the heart, rich in deep abilities to expand our awareness and connection to love. ~

During the evening we will work in ceremony with the cacao which will include a warm drink blend of cacao and herbs and a ceremonial chocolate and meditation to take away with you for the next day.

Natalie will introduce and guide you into this specific plant spirit discussing where she gets it from, how it is produced and why she uses this particular one.  In view of all the current ecological ethics and awareness we feel this is important to acknowledge.

Following the cacao Hannah will lead us into a dance journey including fun guided warm ups, a dyad process of speaking and listening in pairs (it’s not necessary to come with someone as we get paired up randomly for this) and then the main dance journey.

We work in pairs to be a witness and protector to the dancer keeping them safe as the dancers are encouraged to be blindfold throughout.

The blindfold enables us to reach the place of trance (moving meditation) with greater speed and depth.  Some people describe it as feeling like they are the only ones in the space.  It is not a necessity to wear one for those who are concerned about this but is encouraged to deepen the state of meditative journeying.

Each dance journey lasts approximate 30-40 minutes and then the partnership (dancer / witness) is swapped over.

The music is specifically and sensitively chosen to encourage a heightened sense of transcendence, often with a tribal edge and an earthy or etherial vibe.

We honour and give thanks to all artists, traditions and nations from which the music originates.

For this particular event we will also be using live drumming for a dance spiral within the village.

This event aligns with the relatively new moon energy in Cancer calling into the deep emotions of our psyches and pushing our attention to the home in ourselves.

Holding specific intentions for the home that is our earth and our wider community we will also gather around a sacred fire to share and support one another.

If this event calls to you and you would like to know more about any of the details please do not hesitate to get in touch with either Hannah or Natalie.

These events have proved to be profound beyond words for so many. It is our deepest wish to continue to spread the healing ripples wider into the community; to offer people a safe space to explore movement, dance and the freedom of expression just the way their bodies really need.

Absolutely no dance ‘experience’ necessary.  The beating of a heart is the essence of a body that can dance.

We wish to ask all who attends to be prompt for the start.  You are welcome to park anytime from 5pm and the entrance to the event will be open from 5.20pm.  If there are delays it can put strain on the event to run smoothly as timings are carefully planned.  We will do our best to stick to the finish time of 10.30pm as we will need to exit the venue by 11pm.

What to wear:

You are welcome to dance barefoot and be in true connection with the earth but please be aware that there may be uneven ground and some natural debris so if you wish to dance in soft shoes or socks please bring what you feel comfortable in.

Evenings can still be chilly in June so bring blankets, warm clothes and extra layers to put on or take off depending on dance heat!

The organisers and the venue / park cannot be held responsible for any damage or theft on site.  Please make sure you do not leave valuables in your car.  Please refrain from parking in the main car park for staff to distinguish between event attendees and general public.

We will be relying mainly on natural light for this event - as we come up to midsummer the evenings are often still light late into the night but please just bear this in mind to take responsibility and bring a torch if you know you might need one.

Self responsibility:

We will put every effort into making this event safe and enjoyable for all who attend. Please help us by taking sensible responsibility for yourself and your needs. If anything arises that you are uncomfortable with please speak directly to Hannah or Natalie about this.
